I bought these about a month ago. This is just such a wonderful product. In particular, what I like to do to relax in the evenings is I will make a jar of broth – about 24 ounces. I use Better Than Boullion Chicken or Onion and add these freeze dried chives. Microwave for 4 minutes, and it’s great.
Since I’ve bought these chives, I’ve gotten hooked on this recipe so now I am out and urgently need another jar.

I used the Litehouse Chives and a top shelf sour cream. Put about 3 tablespoons of chives to 16 ounces of sour cream.
It is perfect. I use it everyday on something. I probably put to many chives in it, but that’s OK they taste great!

I use dried chives in lots of my cooking recipes and especially every morning in my omelette. Litehouse is beyond any doubt the best of all that I have purchased and will only buy their brand from now on.

I’ll be honest I just throw these in about everything I make. if in doubt…toss in some chives, sprinkle some on potatoes, chicken always loves it, heck maybe on ice cream…you never know. Definitely a pantry staple.

Last winter my husband purchased a jar of Lite House chives. Because I am no longer able to cook as I once did, we haven’t had chives in our spice cabinet for a good long while (I’m talking years!), so upon spying the much-loved herb, I immediately began looking for something which would be enhanced with chives for my midday meal. Having been long used to store-bought (non-fresh) herbs being frustratingly low on flavor, I sprinkled the chives rather heavily on my baked potato. After taking my first bite, I immediately decided this was now a must-have herb for our house! Since then, we’ve gone through quite a few jars of Lite House chives …mostly because I’ve become rather inventive with our foods. One of my most surprising discoveries was how the simple addition of a sprinkling of these chives mixed in with the mayo on a sandwich turns an otherwise staid lunch into a treat for the taste buds. Mmm! I never thought a ham or turkey sandwich could taste so heavenly. These chives spruce up other common meals such as tuna salad, scrambled eggs, soft tacos, and so on (I’d be here all day trying to list all the myriad foods with which I’ve paired chives since discovering these).
I was disappointed to discover Lite House does not offer rosemary as part of this line (we have a couple other brands of that herb, but after using rosemary picked fresh from my mother’s plants for so long, those store-bought versions seem to have no taste at all – and barely even a smell!). With the vast chasm between the quality of Lite House chives over the other brands I’ve tried in the past, I had hoped to have similar results with rosemary.
Thank you, Lite House, for providing consumers with such a flavorful product! I’ve always been rather adventurous in my cooking, but I’m finding the journey more enjoyable now than ever before. 😉

These are absolutely the best freeze dried chives I have tasted . These chives are aromatic and brilliant in color and taste delicious. I love them .
